The Night Before Christmas Paper Chain

I love paper chains!!  I had fun with this epattern/printable. It is the complete story of The Night Before Christmas and is about 19' long when finished.  It is put together without tape, glue or staples and comes with it's own sepia snowflake background so everything matches.  Now available in all of my pattern shops including Instant Download at THE PATTERN CUPBOARD.

In my spare time...

It's been a while since I knitted any thing other than socks and dish cloths.  I am working on a shrug made using Vana White's Sequins yarn.  I am loving this yarn and the way this piece is coming together.  Simple and elegant!

Lady Bones - My Latest EPattern

About three years ago, I made a dapper skeleton guy named Bones that was published in the 2011 Autumn edition of Art Doll Quarterly. All this time, Bones has been waiting for a Lady Bones to accompany him on a night out on the town or just hanging around. She has finally come to life and is putting on the Ritz with her chic hat, dancing shoes and her pumpkin purse. I hope you have as much fun making ths sassy lady as I did.

A quiet Holiday

I managed to finish a pair of socks that I have been knitting on for a few months.  I like to keep a ongoing needlework project on my foot stool so that it is handy to pick up when I have some rare idle time.  Although I planted my zinnia's late this year, I am delighted with their bursts of color in my garden.  Zinnia's are very easy to grow and they reseed themselves so I would encourage you to plant them in your garden...and enjoy their simple beauty.

If not now, when?

I bought a sculpting DVD a couple of years ago.  About three months ago, I finally took time to watch a few minutes of it.  Today, I am looking for the DVD and I can't find it....any where.  I am tired of spending most of my time looking for stuff.  It is time to get organized and I mean organized.  It's time for a makeover!

Fiber Flowers

I took a little bit longer vacation than I had planned due to a leg injury, but it gave me some time to look around on Pinterest.  I love that site.  I ran across some flowers that were made by a lady in Russia that really caught my attention.  My first thought was "How did she do that?" and then my second thought was, "HELLO, I used to make those flowers out of crochet yarn in the mid 1970's!"  Sometimes it pays to be a horder when it comes to old patterns and instructions.  I have been spending some time making these sweet flowers out of updated fibers that are so popular now for various crochet, doll and scrapbook projects.  Burlap is the also the rage so I'm dragging out my yards of burlap that I bought years ago and I'm getting ready to do some serious sewing.  Don't we have fun??

Hog Heaven...Again...

I just love the smell of new software!
Now to find the time to use it :)

Home Movies

I dug out my old camcorder.  I use to make home movies twice a year of all of the happenings here at the farm.  I haven't made movies in several years.  I really enjoyed doing that and don't know why I stopped.  I am going to turn my new seldom used computer (now 2 years old) into my production studio.  I have ordered new movie making software since our Sassy Alice chewed up one of the disks that went with my Pinnacle Studio.  It wouldn't work on my Windows 7 any way so it's a good excuse for new software and a new brand; this time I'm going with Sony Vegas Studio Platinum 11 before I upgrade my Pinnacle to Avid.  A girl can never have too much software :))

My Little Old House...

Those that know me or follow my work know that I love my Little Old House that Poppa built for me several years ago using old wood, door, windows, cabinets and mantel, circa 1900.  This old house stores my dolls, supplies and a few antiques.  It's my playhouse that I never had when I was a child...well, I'm still a child...just a little older.

Little Old House
Right next to my Little Old House is my Mold Building.  It is full to the brim with porcelain doll and ceramic molds.  Right behind my Little Old House is a gigantic dead Oak tree that is not on our property.  On Monday of last week a limb fell from the dead tree and put a sizeable dent in the roof of my Mold building.  This past Monday another limb fell and demolished my mold building.

Mold Building
The tree man is coming Saturday to give us an estimate to remove the dead tree. We do have permission from the property owner to take it down.  It will be 3-4 weeks before the tree man can get to us because he is so far behind.  Last summer's drought took a toll on trees and everything.  As for now, I need things in my Little Old House but I'm not taking a chance on another falling limb.....and praying nothing falls on my sweet Little Old House.
